Following the critically acclaimed re-release of the album In Truth We Trust, JAR returns with new music – beginning right where it almost ended.
It’s a Game is a previously unreleased track that spent years hidden away in a dusty box alongside other demos and alternate mixes. Originally recorded as a demo during the In Truth We Trust era in the 1990s, the song has now been re-recorded, though certain tracks and takes from the original have been preserved.
With its melodic AOR nerve, hook-filled chorus, and lyrics about dreams, life choices, and betrayal, It’s a Game shows that JAR’s music still carries the timeless spirit that made the album so unique. And just like In Truth We Trust, this song is also a tribute to Ray Alex – whose charismatic voice and expression leave an indelible mark on the band’s musical DNA.
Together with Anders Olsson and Tosh Ason – the creative minds behind the songwriting, production, and mixing – JAR now carries the legacy forward. It’s a Game is both a return to the past and a clear statement that the journey continues.
